# Create sessions

> Create your first Cuckoo for Events session

Cuckoo for Events provides real-time translation for in-person events, from community meetups to multi-day conferences with several tracks. Attendees can open a public link or scan a QR code to follow translations on their phones. Organizers can also show one or more translated languages on a shared screen.

## Sign in

To use Cuckoo at an upcoming event, [contact our team](https://www.cuckoo.so/contact) or [schedule a call](https://cal.com/cuckoohq/30m) to enable Cuckoo for Events.

After we enable access, [sign in](https://accounts.cuckoo.so/sign-in) and select the correct organization. Cuckoo for Events is not available in personal workspaces.

## Create a session

    Open [Conferences](https://app.cuckoo.so/conferences) and click **New conference**.

  <Step title="Set the title and languages">
    Complete the conference form.

    * **Title:** The conference name shown in Cuckoo and to attendees.
    * **Link:** An automatically generated, editable URL that attendees use to access translations.
    * **Speaker languages:** All languages that speakers will use during the event. Cuckoo detects when the language changes.
    * **Audience languages:** All languages you want Cuckoo to translate into.
    * **Enable audio:** Let attendees listen to spoken translations on their devices with headphones. This feature is currently in beta.

    Click **Create** to open the host page.

  <Step title="Start translation">
    Under **Mic**, select your microphone input. You can use a USB microphone or an audio interface connected to the venue's audio system.

    Check the **Volume** indicator to confirm that Cuckoo is receiving audio.

    Click **Start** to begin translation. The first translated segments should appear within 1 to 3 seconds.

    Click **Pause** to pause translation. Once you end a session, you cannot restart it.

  <Step title="Clear the test transcript">
    After a microphone test or rehearsal, click **···** to the right of the event title and select **Clear transcript**.
